PORT ADELAIDE ENGINEER [By Telegraph—Press AtSap'ciatiqn] NEW PLYMOUTH, 9th January. A search made when Owen Sherwood, second refrigerating .engineer of the Port Adelaide failed i° answer the calling of the ship’s roll before her departure for Auckland revealed a possible drowninw accident. The only trace of the missing man found at a late hour to-night was .his discarded clothes lying on the beach. ' Sherwood left the vessel about 10.30 a.m with the intention of swimming in the harbour. He was seen doing so, hut has not been heard of since. Sherwood is a Yorkshire man aged 21.
