RIFLE SHOOTING
NELSON RIFLE ASSOCIATION
The executive of the Nelson Rifle Association met this week when the programme for the annual shoot to be held on the Ist February at Motueka range was finalised. There will be two service matches at 300 yards with eighteen prizes allotted to each. Match No. 3 will be 7 shots at 300 and 500 yards; Match No. 4. 7 shots at 500 and 600 yards; Match No. 5, 7 shots at 300, 500 imd 600 yards; and a final 7 shots at 600 yards for the twelve highest aggregate scorers in matches 3, 4 and 5. There are fourteen prizes allotted to each, and the championship aggregate also has fourteen prizes. The entry fee has been reduced to £l, and with liberal handicaps every one should participate in the numerous prize lists. The range will be specially prepared for the occasion, and a record entry is anticipated. It ih hoped to make a start with the service matches before O' a.m. The championship belt will be presented to (he winner at the conclusion of the shooting. Tile ammunition will be 1930 cordite, and mtio will also be available.
