RUGBY, 16th December. Blizzards swept. Scotland and Wales yesterday and there were considerable falls of snow in the Midlands. Some snow fell in London which turned later to rain and sleet. Late last night there was a sharp frost and the icy surfaces of the roads caused many accidents. Electrical railway services were delayed to some extent owing, to ice formation on the live vail. RING OF FOG LONDON SUBURBS SHROUDED RUGBY, 17th December. Frost early to-day combined with fog to render treacherous roads in the outer suburbs of London and south-eastern counties. Fog services became necessary on some railway sections. London was relatively clear and was enjoying sunny weather within a ring of fog which on some outlying roads reduced visibility to about, five yards.
