FIRE IN MARLBOROUGH
BUILDINGS DESTROYED ON SHEEP STATION
[By Telegraph—Press Association]
BLENHEIM, This Day.
The cookhouse, the mens dining room, the married quarters and four adjacent buildings on .Mr H. Y. Monro’s Bankhouse station were totally destroyed by fire oil Tuesday night. The insurance totals £SOO. Shearing is still in progress on the station and difficulty is being experienced in providing the fifteen shearers with meals, especially as the water tanks fell and smashed the supply pipes. The homstead is half a mile distant from the scene of the fire and was not endangered.
