STRICKEN WITH INFLUENZA
ENTIRE CREW OF KETCH VESSEL’S PROTRACTED TRIP (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 6th September, 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The ketch Alma Doepel arrived at Sydney with a cargo of timber and merchandise from Hobart, the voyage occupying 16 days. The vessel left Hobart when it appeared that the recent shipping strike would be a protracted one. During the trip the entire crew was stricken with influenza. The captain was forced to make for the nearest shelter, and there the ship lay for six days until a sufficient number of the crew had recovered to continue the voyage.
