The cruising liner Doric collided off Portugal in a thick fog with the French steamer Formingy. The Doric was returning home with 736 passengers. She was holed amidships. No. 3 bold was flooded, but the vessel was able to continue to London under her own steam. The Orion and the Viceroy of India, also returning from cruises answered the S.O.S. Four hundred passengers were transferred to the Orion and the remainder to the Viceroy of India.
