BAKER WITH APPENDICITIS (By Telegraph—Press Association' 1 WELLINGTON, This Day. When the Makura, which arrived today, was three days out from San Francisco, Mr J. A. Perreau, the first baker, w r as operated on for acute appendicitis by the ship’s doctor, Dr. 0. S. Lawrence, assisted by Dr. Luckie, physician of Pasadena. Dr. E. B. Reilly, a Christchurch dentist, gave the anaesthetic. The operation was performed in the ship’s nursery while the ship slowed down,. Mr Perreau made a good recovery. ■ , ,
