AMICABLY SETTLED

REBEL CHINESE CRUISERS RETURNING TO' NANKING (United Presß Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) HONG KONG, 28th June. The dispute has been amicably settled and the rebel cruisers have agreed to return to Nanking escorted by the Ninghai. They will not be disarmed and will proceed under their own personnel. The arrival of two Chinese warships, Haichi and Haishen, outside Hong: Kong on 17th inst., was the first indication of a naval mutiny at Canton. It was reported that after a fight with the Cantonese forces the warships succeeded in escaping. Steaming down Pearl river to Hong Kong the mutineers ran the gauntlet of the Bocca and Tigris forts. The warships forced their way past the fortifications of Jang Tong and also escaped bombs from aeroplanes. Heav-ing-to off Hong Kong the mutineers sent to the city a launch containing threo seriously wounded members of the crew. Tlie mutiny has no political significance. Canton Government officials stated that they anticipated some discontent following pay cuts in the navy.
