CLAIM FOR DAMAGES
SEQUEL TO MOTOR ACCIDENT VERDICT FOR DEFENDANT (By Telegraph—Pree# A«*<o<-iaiion) AUCKLAND, This Day. A, claim lor more than £IOOO damages .was made in the Supreme Court as a sequel to an accident which occurred in Anzac Avenue on Ist May of last year. On that date Hector Percy Join: Shaw, of Tauranga, a retired Lieutenant-Colo-nel of tile Indian Army, was knocked down and severely injured by a motor car driven by Albert Leslie Bullen. Slrnw claimed £BOO general damages and £212 14s for hospital and medical expenses from Bullen. Plaintiff claimed that the accident was due to the excessive speed of defendant’s car, and other negligence. Defendant alleged that the accident was due to plaintiff’s ra::ure to exercise reasonable care in crossing the street. The jury gave a verdict for defendant.
