ONE FOR EVERY 20 PERSONS PAYMENTS IN TAXATION (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, 12th November. Th e report of tlie administration of the Road Fund 1933-34 shows that total payments in motor tax amounted to £31,577,718 compared with £28,702,370 the previous year. One third of the net proceeds of license and duties was retained by the Treasury. The total amount paid to the Road Fund after receipts from other sources during the year-was £25,755,366. During the 13 years ended 1933 the number of motor vehicles in Great- Britain had grown from 373,700 to 2,282,000. It is estimated that the figures for 1933 represent one motor vehicle for every twenty persons in Great Britain.
