AQUATIC SPORTS

PRELIMINARY REGATTA TO BE HELD The executive of the Regatta Committee met last night to discuss the possibilities of holding a preliminary regatta on Saturday, Bth December. There were present: Mr J. A. Harley (in the chair), Messrs N. Harley, G. A. Day, Wilson, and the secretary (Mr E. J. Curry). After a little discussion it was decided to hold a preliminary regatta on Bth December. The suggested programmme was drawn up: Launch race, 2.15 p.m.; rowing race, 2.45 p.m.; sailing race, 3 p.m.; rowing race, 3.15 p.m.; sailing race, 3.30 p.m.; rowing races, 3.45 p.m. and 4.15 p.m. ; launch race, 4.30 p.m. Mr G. A. Day offered his boat for officials to start the rowing races.

It was decided to write to the Harbour Board asking permission to hold the regatta on Bth December and Ist February. The question of holding at dance was held over in rhe meantime, pending other arrangements.
