RELIGION IN BRIGHTWATER
In connection with the series of mission meetings, an impressive address was delivered in the Bnghtwator Methodist Church last night by the Rev. W. A. Burley, M.A., of Nelson. The subject dealt with was the genuine effectiveness of Christianity in its great objectives — the saving of men from their vices, and the perfecting of moral character. Many examples, some of them notable, were given in illustration of the theme. Contact with the unseen source of power, wherever and by whomsoever tried out in experience, had always succeeded. Tlie changed lives of those who had become converts, both in the past and the present, were the incontrovertible evidence of religion. A •solo was sung bv Mrs E. Lewis. Several expressed their personal enjoyment of the meetings being held, and tlie general helpfulness of the addresses given.
