NEW VACCINE

IMMUNITY FROM INFANTILE PARALYSIS SUCCESSFUL EXPERIMENT (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) PHILADELPHIA, 17th August. After three years’ experimenting with monkeys, Dr John Kohlmer, Professor of Medicine at Temple University, announced a successful method of vaccinating human beings to immunise them from infantile paralysis. The vaccine was prepared from the spinal cords of monkeys. Dr Kolmer has already vaccinated himself and lan assistant, the operation only resulting in slight soreness of the arm. He said he expected such innoeulation to eventually become the standard practice in infancy.
