DIRECT FROM LONDON

TO LOAD APPLES. SKINS AND MEAT

The Shaw Savill Company’s steamer Maliiu, of 7014 gross tonnage, arrived at Nelson yesterday from England via Sydney. The vessel, which came out empty, left London on litli March and coaled at Newcastle, leaving that port on 10th March. She arrived at Sydney on 22nd April and departed for Nelson on 2oth April. Thu Maliiu will load a direct shipment of 22,000 eases of apples for London. and also a quantity of frozen meat and skins. The vessel is due to leave here on Thursday to continue her loading at other New Zealand ports. it is (i-i years since the Maliiu was last in Nelson. The master is C M. Andrews, who has with him the following otlicers: Chief oljicer, E. Attiynod; second, E. Costa; third, lb Bolton; fourth, B. Atkins; chief engineer, A. Cooper; second, B. Crawford; third, S. Ledger; fourth, D. Walburn; fifth, J. Hilson; sixth, J.' Hanion; seventh, L. Brown; wireless operator, R. Bell; first refrigerating engineer, J. Beedoll; second, (J. Evans; chief steward, A. Oillard.
