CENTENARY AIR RACE

REPLY TO COMPLAINTS NO CHANGE IN CONDITIONS (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) MELBOURNE, 27th April. The Centenary Air 1 Race Committee framed a reply to complaints from America that tlie rules governing and airworthiness of aircraft participating in tlie Centenary Air Race had been designed to exclude American aeroplanes. The reply declares there is <po possibility oi the conditions of the race being altered, because any alteration would lower the margin of "safety. The committee does not desire a repetition of the tragic race from San Francisco to Hawaii in 1927, and it is leaving approval of American aeroplanes entirely to the supreme American authority, namely, the Department of Commerce.
