WOOL EMBARGO WITHDRAWAL ALLOTMENT OF QUOTAS (United Pre“s Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 23th April, 9.10 a.in.) LONDON, 26th April. The Yorkshire ‘‘Post ’ is officially informed that tiui German embargo on wool imports is being withdrawn on sth May. As originally announced, the new regulations under which the industry is allowed to - import raw materials provide for allotment of quotas to mills in each April and September based on a complicated formula derived from wool processed in 1933 and in the first quarter of 1934. Special permits to buy more than the allotted quota are being granted in exceptional cases. COMPLETEMORATORIUM i ON ALL LOANS (Received 28th April, 9.10 a.m.) LONDON, -mb April. The “Guardian’s” Berlin correspondent says that Germany is expected to demand a complete moratorium on all loans, including the Dawes and Young issues; also a reduction of interest payments, and will point out that tariff or quota concessions are necessary to enable her to increase her foreign trade. Otherwise the transfer of interest abroad cannot he maintained. The “Financial News" say Britain will oppose any attempt to establish a complete moratorium.

On the eve of the international conference on Germany’s lona and middle term debts Dr. Schacht, broadcasting, announced that the continuance of the present partial payments of foreign currency was impossible, and they would imcindiately be suspended.

THUNDER FROM GOEBBELS REFERENCE TO CATHOLIC CHURCH WARNING TO PROFITEERS (Received 28th April, 10.35 a.m.) BERLIN, 27th April. Dr. Goebbels spoaking at a mass dejnonstration at Dusseldorf, said the. Government would never allow inflation in Germany again but would keep the currcncv stahic. Referring to the Catholic Church, he said: “Those lusty gentlemen need not think they can escape our eagle eye by assuming the deceitful mask of a party. We know them. The nat:on also does _ not sympathise with fights occurring within the Protestant Church., It would. be better if churchmen felt deep gratitude that national Socialism lias saved the church from the assaults of the godless Bolsheviks.” I)r. Goebbels also thundered a warning to profiteers and price raisers. GRAVE VIEW BY BRITAIN DEFERRING PAYMENT'S (Received -28th April, 10.25 a.m.) BERLIN, 27th April. Sit Eric Phipps, British Ambassador, told Dr. Neurath, that the British Government had to take a grave view of a ny proposal to defer payments of the Dawes and Young loans.
