ABSENCE OF WIND (By Telegraph—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH. 27th April. The absence of a sufficient number of the old-time Canterbury nor-westers is said to have affected the wheat harvest of the province. ’ A grain merchant stated that a fair amount of wheat which had been threshed from the stack could, with advantage, have been leit for another fortnight. In normal years, six weeks was long enough for the grain to be stacked, but owing to the changeable weather during the harvest, two months in the stack seemed to he necessary this ) ear.
