GARDENING CIRCLE'S FLOWER V ' DISPLAY A flower display was held in the Y.M.C.A. Hall on Thursday afternoon last, hy the gardening circle members of the Wakefield Women’s Institute. The display was a glorious show of magnificent flowers, perfect blooms and most artistic and unique arrangement. The most outstanding exhibit of the show was a miniature garden and pond by Mrs Closs. A floating bowl in orange and black done by Mrs Waghorn was the last word in artistic beauty. -.irs Shuttleworth showed a perfect seedling dahlia bloom, a giant flower of beautiful form and substance. Mrs I). ( McPherson and Mrs I-lodlcy Wilkens were the most successful exhibitors in the chrysanthemum class, their blooms receiving much admiration. Mr Eylos, Brightwater, had some fine chrysanthemums and gfirberas on exhibition and Dr. Closs some very nice begonias. The afternoon tea was excellent and served at little tables amongst the beautiful flowers. The gardening circle arc to be congratulated on their very fine display. ° The judges were Mrs Burgess and Mrs Frank Hooper and they carried out their difficult task to the entire satisfaction of all concerned.
