COTTON CONTROL BILL

SIGNED BY PRESIDENT WASHINGTON, ,21st April. The Bankhead Cotton Control Bill was signed by (lie President to-day, becoming law. It is pointed out that this is the first attempt the Government has ever made to control production through the power of taxation. All cotton produced in excess of ten billion bales will he taxed io 50 per cent, of its market value for processing.
