MATTER OF GUARANTEE BIG SUM INVOLVED (United Press. Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) SYDNEY. 19th April. An action has Leon commenced in the Supreme Court at Sydney by the Bank of New Zealand against John Wren, of Melbourne, investor, in which the bank claims .£15,225 in respect of a guarantee to plaintiff. The Bank alleges that money was advanced to A C. Cooke Limited on Wren’s guarantee, and that the whole sum, ulus interest now due, had not been paid. Wren denies the effect of the guarantee, and contends that the "bank without Iris consent advanced to Cooke Limited an amount in excess of the sum originally stipulated, which is the subject of a cross action. The suit is partly heard.
