ENGLAND TO AUSTRALIA (United Preßß Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 20th Amrij, 10.10 a.in.) CANBERRA; This Day. Announcing that Quantas Empire Airways Limited were the successful tenderers' for the Singapore-Danvin-Brisbaue section of the England-Aust-tralia air mail, the Minister of Defence, Sir George Pearce, said that after the commencement-of the official service, English mails would reach Australia in less than fourteen days. The director of Quantas Airways stated that the Singapore-Brisbane service would he inaugurated with six of the latest four-engined de ITaviland ‘planes, which are fitted to carry thre passengers in addition to mails. The crew will be Australian. A start on the service is expected in December or January.
