DROUGHT EMERGENCY BILL
MEASURE OF URGENCY (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, 11th April. The text of the Government’s Drought Emergency Bill, has been issued. It is hoped that it- will pass all stages at a rush rate, as it is regarded as a measure of urgency, particularly in North Wales, Lancashire and tile west riding of Yorkshire. Only abnormal rains can make emergency measures unnecessary, so the Government is taking drastic steps to prevent wastage of water. The Bill gives power to pool or ration supplies, and divert water from weirs to reservoirs.
