BOXING IN LONDON
WATSON KNOCKS OUT CROWLEY rooit ’ d satia LONDON, 19th December. Ex-Seaman Watson knocked out Dave Crowley, the Londoner, in the tenth round.' The title was not involved. Crowley, making most of the unexpected opportunity to meet Watson, attacked strongly in the early rounds ana continued to worry him. Consequently the spectators were surprised when the fight- elided suddenly, Watson swinging a right to the solar plexus. Crowley was unable to leave the ring for five minutes. The fight ended in an uproar, the crowd alleging a foul, jeering Watson and cheering Crowley.
PALMER OUTCLASSES STANTON SYDNEY, 20th December. At Leichhardt stadium to-night in a 12 rounds bout, Ambrose Palmer (12st 31bs), outclassed the Canadian Alick Stanton (13st The latter was down in the second round and took severe punishment to the fourth, when Palmer gained the decision on a technical knock-out.
