PAYMENT OF INCOME TAT EXEMPTION TO GO (From “The Mail’s” Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON 20th December. In future, premiums paid on pure endowment policies may not be included in claims for exemptions from income tax. A clause in the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill introduced in the House of Representatives provides that no special exemption shall be allowed in respect of premiums paid ini any pure endowment policy effected alter the passing of the Bill. A pure endowment policy is defined as a policy of life insurance which does not provide for the payment of a specified capital sum on the death of Hie assured person.
