COSTS REFUSED
RECENT LIBEL SUIT (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) SYDNEY, 19th December. AL Justice Halse-Rogers refused plaintiff, Sir Hugh Denison, costs in the libel suit against “Truth.” The Judge refused an application by plaintiff’s solicitor for a. stay of proceedings, adding: “Although the jury’s verdict of a farthing damages was not contemptuous, it appears to impeach plaintiff’s judgment, ill bringing the action. Therefore I will not grant a certificate of costs.”
