A LITTLE BOY DROWNED

WELLINGTON. This Day

Falling into an old well at Miramar yesterday, Ronald Alien James Paterson, aged 41 years, was' drowned. He was a son of Mr and Mrs E. A. Paterson, of 86 Wexford road, Miramar. Ronald and his sister Patricia, aged 2 years, ■ had been playing on a section near their home when' the accident occurred at about 3.30 o’clock. Patricia returned and' tried to tell her mother what had happened, but could only say “Ronnie” and .“water!”

The boy was found floating face downward in the water. The assistance of a party of men was secured,> and artificial respiration was tried for a considerable time but without success.
