NELSON PHILOSOPHICAL SOCIETY
OFFICERS ELECTED AT ANNUAL MEETING . At the annual meeting of the Nelson Philosophical Society last evening the election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —President, Dr. K. M. Curtis; vice-president, Mr F. W. Foster: lion, secretary, Mr 0. B. Pemberton; bon. auditor, Mr T. Rigg; committee, Sirs IV Moncrieff, Professor T. H. Easterfield, Messrs F._ G. Gibbs, F. V. Knapp, J. G. McKay, and Dr. D. Miller.
Lecturettes were given by Mrs Moncrieff and Mr Foster in connection with the clearing of forest areas which would not produce useful farm land.
