MINISTER OF ARGRICULTURE

VISIT TO NELSON

Tlie Nelson Fruit Advisory Committee has been advised by Messrs H. Atmore and K. J. Holyoake, M’s.P., that the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. C. E. Macmillan, will arrive in Nelson on Saturday morning, and will he prepared to meet fruitgrowers to discuss the question of assistance to those who have been seriously affected by frost damage. The committee has been in communication with the Prime Minister, and Mr Atmore and Mr Holyoake with reference to assistance to growers so affected, and the Minister’s visit will be greatly appreciated.

During the visit opportunity will he taken to approach the Minister on the question of the Government Export Fruit Guarantee for the 1934 season, and meetings for this purpose, which will be advertised in to-morrow (Friday) night’s issue, are being arranged. It is understood that the Minister, who will be accompanied by Messrs Atmore and Holyoake, will return to Wellington on Monday night.
