ALBANY (New York), 23rd May. On a tidal wave of ‘‘wet” votes today, New York became the sixth State to approve of the repeal of the Prohibition Amendment. In virtually every city of the State the repealists scored decisive victories. 50 TO 1 FOR REPEAL NEW YORK CITY (Received 25th May, 9.5 a.m.) NEW YORK, 24th May: New York State ratified the repeal of the Eighteenth Amendment by 20 to 1, while in New York City the repeal majority was about 50 to 1. 'these large majorities are expected to give an impetus to the repeal movement in other States which vote in the near lulure.
