CLAIM FOR DAMAGES FAILS (By Telegraph—Press Association! WESTPORT, Bth March. Tn a claim for £SOO damages against the Westport-Stockton Coal Co., brought by Miss Olive Parrish on behalf of a iO-year-old brother and arising out of the death of James Parrish, the jury brought in a verdict for the defendant company. The Parrish family lived at Hector, and on 2nd July, 1931, the defendant company was extending a system of wire cables oil 20ft poles. The Parrish house was near a corner post and the deceased. James Parrish, father of the plaintiff, was walking out of his home when the cable fell under the strain and he was hit on the hack of the neck, being thrown violently to the ground into a ditch, death subsequently taking place.
