OIL DISPUTE
CANCELLATION OF CONCESSION PERSIA CLAIMS JUSTIFICATION NEW AGREEMENT SUGGESTED (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, 14th December. The Teheran Government, replying to the last British Note, considers that The Hague Court is not competent, io examine the oil dispute, and reiterates that the cancellation of the Darcy concessions was justified. The reply threatens to bring to the notice of the League of Nations alleged threats of pressure by the British Government, which is encouraging the oil company to resist payment of royalties and income tax. A new agreement is suggested safeguarding Persian interests. DISPUTE REFERRED TO LEAGUE (Received 15th December, 10.5 *.m.' GENEVA, 14th December The Persian Government has instructed its Minister to refer the oil dispute to the League.
