DIRIGIBLE''LOS ANGELES TO BE SCRAPPED (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received Ist July, 8.50 a.m.) NEW YORK, 30th June. A message from Lakehurst (New Jersey) states that the giant dirigible, Los Angeles, the training ship of United States navy fliers, was ordered to bo decommissioned to-day, the reasons given being old age and economy. It will be immediately shorn of its helium gas, engines, and name. The dirigible was delivered here in 1924, after a 74 hours’ flight from Friedrichshafen by Dr. Eckener.
