THREE KILLED AND TWENTY
INJURED

LONDON, 18th June-, C Throe were killed and twenty injured by the derailing of the Crewe to Birmingham express late at night a few miles north of Stafford. The engine had just crossed the points when it left the track and was almost- buried in the embankment.
The cries of the injured were agonising. One woman’s leg was amputated beside the railway.
