The last doubtful Assembly seat, Canterbury, was decided to-day, the final distribution of preferences giving victory by 110 votes to Mr Hocking, United Candidate, over Mr Tonge, Langite. The final state of parties is— Government 66. Opposition, 24.

SYDNEY, This Day. The State Government’s proposal to reform the Legislative Council, on which there is to be a referendum, will bo brought down in the Upper House this week.

Parliament will meet on Wednesday or Thursday.
