ERECTION OF MEMORIAL (B.y Telegraph—Preen Association) HASTINGS, 16th June. /The Napier plans for the erection of a memorial over the community grave of tho 84 earthquake victims at Parke Island Cemetery have now been completed, and tenders for its erection are to bn called within the next few days. When prices for the work have been obtained, they, together with the plans which have received the approval of the sub-com-mittee of the Napier Earthquake Memorial Committee set. up to deal with them, will lie submitted to a meeting of citizens, which will then consider the ways and means of raising the necessary money to pay for the crccffon of tho memorial. The central feature of the memorial will he an obelisk about which there will be concrete paths and a garden border design.
