A very interesting letter was read from Mrs Smith a former president of Ihe union. Mrs Smith wrote of her travels in the Holy Land and Egypt. The rest of the afternoon was devoted to very fine papers written by Mrs IVrriimm who is editress of “The White Riljbon” paper. Tlie day was really “White Ribbon Day.” Mrs Perriman writes: “Thorn never was a time in this country when it was more necessary to put first tilings first, than now. Tbe boundless riches of the universe, are ours but only tbe prayer of faith can open the door to receive them. White ribboners of tlie past have never shirked sacrifice. That same spirit is not dead, but only latent, in these difficult times. Let us pray that a breath from tlie Unseen may fan its embers to a flame.
“The ‘White Ribbon’ stands for peace, purity and prohibition and no sacrifice is too great to see these principles es tablished in our Dominion.” The meeting closed with a hymn and the Benediction.
