FURTHER RESULTS (By Telegraph—Press Association) ASHBURTON, 6th August. 'l’lie New Zealand amateur boxing championships were continued, results being: Lightweight—D. Campbell won by default from G. Gillingham (Greymouth); R. McLaughlan (Auckland) 9st. 121bs. defeated F. Bennie (Napier) 9st. 91bs; R. Gregory (Gisborne) 9st. lOglbs. defeated L. Ennis (Timaru) 9st. s£Tbs. Gregory showed better skill and Ennis was severely punished in the third round. Bantam weight—D. Roebuck (Taranaki) Bst. defeated J. Cowen (Greymouth) Bst. There was a lively second round, hut the final was tame until Roebuck used his right effectively. R. Williams (Auckland) Bst. l£lbs. defeated L. Larson (Wellington) 7st. 121bs. It- was a good bout, Larsen using an effective left.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE FURTHER PROCEEDINGS ASHBURTON. 6th August, The Boxing Conference rejected a Whangerei remit for the examination of referees; also a Hawkes Bay remit limiting professional contests to twelve l’ounds; also a remit from Waimate that associations in towns under 3000 population pay 50 per cent, less fees to the New Zealand Association. The conference carried a Wellington remit that at the annual meeting associations have a vote for each permit used, and that between 31st July last and the next annual meeting levies to the insurance fund be suspended. The sum of £IOO was granted to the Christchurch Sports Club, A request by the Napier and Hawkes Bay Association for earthquake relief was referred to the council for favourable consideration. The next championships v/ere fixed for New Plymouth. The attendance was nearly 900 last night, a record for New Zealand.

TO DAY’S BUSINESS ELECTION OF OFFICERS (By Telegraph—Press Association) ASHBURTON. This Day. The Boxing Association this morning received the report of the committee appointed yesterday to draft amended rules for a percentage basis for purses. The matter was discussed in committee for two hours. The report, which was rejected, was withheld from publication. The matter of purses was left to the discretion of associations promoting contests. It was decided that further championships be held in September Officers were elected as follows: — President, the incoming president of the Taranaki Association; vice-presidents, Messrs J. A. Heath (Napier) and H. D. Johnston (Ashburton); appeal committee, Messrs C. F. Sanders, V. R. Meredith, and H. McKenzie (all of Auckland) ; council, Dr. P. F. McEvedy (chairman), Messrs D. R. Hoggard, J. H. Simpson, E. Blundell, E. A. Dawson and H. H. Sterling, and Colonel R. St. J. Bere (all of Wellington); trustees of insurance fund, Messrs W. G. Talbot (chairman), J. R. Simpson, and J. W. Hunan; hon. treasurer, Mr E. A. Dawson ; auditor, Mr W. G. Talbot; secretary, Mr G. P. Aldridge.

ROSENBLOOM RETAINS TITLE (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) NEW YORK, sth .August. At Brooklyn Maxil Rosenbloom retained the light-heavyweight title, obtaining a decision over Jimmy Slattery in 15 rounds on Wednesday night in the presence of a small attendance.
