Excessively heavy rain has fallen in: the Tnihape district for several days. Much of the country, which is heavily wooded, is waterlogged. V Slips have also blocked the main highway between Mangaweka and Tailiape. Repair gangs are handicapped by the heavy rain, which is still failing. A report from the district states that, motor cars will be unable to get through for two days, and that it will probably be two weeks before heavy lorries will be able to use the road. ~ • ’ • 1 -
