SCOUTS AND GUIDES

GREAT RALLY AT AUCKLAND ROYAL MESSAGES (By Telegraph—Press Association) AUCKLAND, 22nd February. At a great Boy Scout and Girl Guido rally held in the Domain yesterday in honour of the visit of Lord BadenPowell, 10,000 boys and girls were on parade and gave a magnificent display of marching, Scout craft and tableaux of historic events in New Zealand history. Messages from the Prince of Wales and Princess Mary and the GovernorGeneral, Lord Bledisloe, to the Boy Sconts and Girl Guides of New Zealand were read by Lord and Lady BadenPowell. The Prince of Wales wrote to Lord Baden-Powell as follows : “My Dear Chief Scout.—l have had the good fortune to have visited all the British overseas Dominions in my time, and in each of them I have been glad to see the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides on a promising foundation and possessing very much the same standard of efficiency as their brothers and sisters in the'Old Country. My hope is that in all parts of the Empire they will go on developing, not only in numbers and scoutcraft, but also in the grand spirit of goodwill and courage which I saw so wonderfully shown by those gallant fathers and elder brothers who fought in the Great War. 1 desire you will give to the Scouts and Guides my cordial greetings and best wishes for good camping.— Yours sincerely,—Edward.' ’ Princess Mary’s message was as follows :

ANNUAL LEAVE “ Short staff.” “ A thousand orders.” “ Leave cancelled.” “ Absolutely run-down.” “—Then a friend suggested Marshall’s Fospherine.” “What a difference!” “It worked like a fortnight’s holiday.” “Marshall’s feeds and revitalises ragged, worn-out nerves. Imparts fresh life and renewed energy to the whole system.” “It’s great!” “The six-sided carton, containing 100 doses for 2/6, is obtainable at all chemists and stores.”*
