The traditions of the British merchant service were worthily upheld by It. T. Salmon, third officer of the Yuensung, which in, the China Sea canto upon a water logged Chinese, junk. A life line thrown from the vessel rescued six', but olio man was left on the junk, being too exhausted to move. Salmon stripped and dived into the rather rough sea, and brought the man aboard, but resuscitation methods proved unavailing.
