STOWAWAY CHARGED
AN AUSTRALIAN IN COURT (By Telegraph—Press Association) AUCKLAND, This Day. Arthur John Summerson, an Australian newspaper employee, before the Court on remand, still refused to sign the declaration required by anybody landing in New Zealand. Detective-Sergeant Kelly said that Summerson stowed aWay on the Rangitarie and at Panama was placed aboard the Ruapehu. “The Customs Collector now tells me that if 1 don’t send him ba.ck to the Ruapehu I’m liablpr torasti,month's imprisonment.” (Laughter). '■} t. Mr Mclntosh)- the Collector of. Customs, said that Summerson was only allowed ashore to meet a stowaway charge and was still officially aboard the Ruapehu. Summerson was remanded in custody till Thursday-
