The weather was fine and the wicket good for tlie resumption of the match West Indies versus Victoria. Runs came freely from the start, Grant especially batting much more enterprisingly than usual. The running between the wickets was delightful, but towards the cn i ol the innings this was overdone and Gnat and St. Hill committed suicide by lacking up too far. Grant gave a good display of 138 minutes and bit eight boundaries. Healey gave a bright exhibition for 47 minutes and hit two boundaries. The total was the highest for the tour. The batsmen wore confident througho.it. Nagel, a tall, medium-fast bowler, bowled well since the resumption. A feature of Victoria’s innings ‘'as their powerful driving display.
