THE GOOD TEMPLARS

NELSON AND TAHUNA The Hope of Taliuna Temple held its weekly session in tho town board room on Friday evening, presided over by Bro. D. Snowden. Owing to Bro. Watson being unable to attend, it was announced ho would give his programme at next session, Bro. VercOc proposed Peter Vcrcoe for admission to membership at the following session. The superintendent announced that a list of pen friends mimes had been dispatched to temple superintendents in England. The programme for next Friday’s session was announced as election and installation of new officers conducted by Bro. Watson, S.D.T.C.T. Word building and other competitions were held. Bros. D. Snowdon and G. Stewart coming first, and Bros. T. Vass and Stewart second.

On Saturday evening the Hope of Nielson Temple held its weekly session in the J.O.R. hall, presided over by the C.T., Sister M. Graham. After the usual opening temperance lesson and routine business, the quarterly election of officers was held, when the following were elected to serve for the ensuing term: C.T., Sister M. Graham (re-elected), V.T., Sister G. Pickwell; secretary, Sister Joan Mitchell; marshal, Bro. Owen Mitchell; assistant secretary,' Sister K. MeEwan; guardian, N. Burrell; chaplain', Sister E. Kenmare; finance secretary, Bro. W. AlcEwan; treasurer, Bro. J. MeEwan. Sister Airs Watson presented the prizes, for the fancy dress parade held at the previous session. Bro. Sommerville, S.J.W., Taliuna Temple, visited the Hope of Nelson, and provided a surprise packet which was awarded to Sister Joan Mitchell, Bro. McEwiin being awarded a prize for a competition. Nefct session was announced as question box night. A short meeting of the Loyal Nelson Lodge was held, for the election of ollicers, the retiring officers all being re-elected for the coining quarter.
