DEATH SENTENCES COMMUTED
BUCKLEY TO SERVE LIFE IMPRISONMENT

MELBOURNE, 9th December.
The Victorian Labour Cabinet commuted the death sentence on Richard Buckley, for the murder of Berriam, to life imprisonment. Also the death sentence on Herbert Donovan, aged 19 .years, for the murder of Mrs Little was commuted to imprisonment for 15 years, after which he is to be detained during the Governor's pleasure.
