Essex, at Lord's.—Middlesex, first innings 264 (Newman not out 110); second innings 242 (Hearne 93). Essex, frost innings 420 (O'Connor 104, Russell 102); second innings, one wicket for 90. Essex won by nine wickets. Derbyshire v. Northamptonshire, at Northampton.—Derbyshire, first innings 214, Clark taking five wickets for 68; second innings 123, Matthews taking four for 27. Northants, first innings 93, Mitchell taking six for 28; second innings 173. Derbyshire won by 71 runs. Gloucestershire v. Kent, at Bristol.— Gloucestershire, first innings, 198, Freeman taking six for 97; second innings, 245 (Dacre 51), Freeman taking eight for 101. Kent, first innings, 170, Parker taking six for 74; second innings, 156, Parker taking five for 28. Gloucestershire won by 117 runs. Leicestershire v. Surrey, at Leicester— Leicestershire, first innings, 275 (Armstrong 147), Allom taking four wickets for 54; second innings, 90, Gregory taking five for 34. Surrey, first innings, 168 (Sandhani 70), Geary taking four for 17; second innings, 104, Astill taking seven for 32. Leicestershire won by 117 runs.
Yorkshire v. \\ arwickslnre, at hitmingham.—Yorkshire, first innings, nine wickets for 364, declared (Mitchell 76); second innings, two for 100. Warwickshire, first innings 148, Robinson taking live for 41; Warwickshire followed on and scored 314 (Sanlall 105 not out). Yorkshire won by eight wickets. Lancashire v. Sussex, at Manchester. —Lancashire, first innings 298 (Hopwood 82). Bowley taking five wickets for 79. Sussex, first innings 141. Hodgson taking five for 35; Sussex followed on and losi seven wickets for 173. Lancashire won on the first innings.
