TIMBER INDUSTRY
PERIOD OF DEPRESSION (Ity Telegraph—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. The timber industry at present is passing through a period of depression with the result that many sawmills on the West Coast have closed down and others will be doing so before long. Work at the big mill at Mcana ceased on Saturday for most likely a few weeks, and about 25 men will become idle.
