John Cornwall (28) a motor driver, pleaded guilty to stealing goods to the. value of £49', the property of the New Zealand Railways, other goods to the value of £SO the property of an unknown person, and also a gramophone valued at £l3.

The Magistrate, Mr Hunt, imposed sentences totalling twelve months imprisonment. He said that the offences were very serious. Thefts had been going on steadily for three years.
