This announcement was made to-day by the Prime Minister, the Hon. G. W. Forbes. The cost would amount to £IOOO, and the value of the work would be overshadowed by that of America. The radio research line of work will, however, be carried out. Mr Gibbs, chief, telegraph engineer, has arranged for observations.
