BOYS’ MISCHIEF

OBSTACLE PLACED ON BRIDGE

(By Telegraph—Preen Association)

MASTERTON, Bth April. It is understood that the police intend taking action against four boys who placed an obstacle on the Waiohine Bridge, near Carterton, on Saturday night, with the result that a car collided with another immediately in front, and Irvine Hart, of Masterton, suffered a painful and possibly serious injury to his face.

The boys are alleged to have cycled from Carterton to Greytown to attend a picture show, and on their return journey they placed the remains of an old case on the bridge, with a flag of brown paper ffted to a stick. They waited for cars to arrive to see what the drivers would do, but eventually they became tired of waiting; and returned home.

A little later a car pulled up promptly when the driver saw the obstruction, and . another following close behind crashed into it.
