■ INCIDENT AT AUCKLAND

AUCKLAND, This Day.' . '--A woman living in >Basselt road, Remuera, and her daughter, aged 8 years, were attacked by black-backed gulls .when crossing Parnell foreshore to , Wilson's Bay yesterday, on a big sewer which spans that portion of Hobson Bay: The child lay down and screamed, while the mother waved her arms and tried-to strike the birds with a shopping basket, the pair eventually retreating to the Parnell shore. *
